Door Won't Unlock

If your key won't turn all the way, or just spins in the barrel or the handle won't budge even after the the key has unlocked the mechanism, then the chances are that gearbox has failed and will need replacing. Not only can our engineers get your door open but their fully stocked vans carry the most commonly found gearboxes and an array of temporary gearboxes that can get the door secured temporarily until we are able to source a replacement part, usually in 24hrs.
In some cases when the mechanism has been discontinued, with a few modifications to the door and its frame, we are able to offer an alternative mechanism and solution so that the door doesn't need to be replaced.

Door Locking Problems

As uPVC repair specialists, we can normally get most door locking problems resolved on our first visit and in under an hour. Should you notice that your door is becoming difficult and stiff to lock and you are having to force and hold the handle up, it is usually as a result of a misaligned hinge or keep, or a slightly dropped doors. In the short term it should be no cause for concern, but if it is left for too long it can lead to the actual mechanism failing altogether, leaving you unable to securely lock your door.

Window Not Unlocking

Due to the weight of the glass in a double glazed window and if the glass is installed incorrectly the hinges can start to drop which causes the espagnolette to fail. This is a very common problem, especially on fanlight windows, and one that we have years of experience in repairing.

Misty And Blown Double Glazed Windows

Misty and foggy double glazed windows are a clear indication the your sealed units have failed, whilst this has no adverse effect of the sound and weather proofing qualities of the window it can be very unsightly to look at.
